Dr. Nitin Chhabra, MD is double board certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine by the American Board of Anesthesiology. Dr. Chhabra attended college at Birmingham-Southern College in Birmingham,AL. He completed his medical degree at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine in Mobile,AL. He completed his residency in Anesthesiology and fellowship in Pain Management at the University of Louisville in Louisville, KY. After completing his fellowship, Dr. Chhabra returned to Birmingham, AL,and joined a pain clinic, where he has been practicing for the last 13 years. He also started an Anesthesiology business, providing anesthesia for dental patients.
Dr. Chhabra’s wife is from the Chattanooga area, and he is excited to be joining CSPM and their wonderful team of physicians and staff. Dr. Chhabra believes in multimodal pain management, focusing on interventional techniques and medical management. He believes in using opioids only when needed,and at the lowest effective dose. Through many years of experience, Dr. Chhabra has learned that every patient’s story is unique, and treatment needs to be tailored to that unique story. He strives to help patients become more functional, so they can get back to what’s important to them.
Dr. Chhabra and his wife have three daughters. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family,staying active, and watching sports, especially college football.
