Cervical Radiculopathy

Cervical Radiculopathy is a common issue – you might know it as a pinched nerve.

A pinched nerve is pain caused by the irritation or compression of nerve roots in the cervical spine. Depending on where the injury exists, it can cause symptoms that radiate to nearby areas of the body – including throughout the arms.

A pinched nerve can be a result of simple wear and tear – the older we get, and the more we use our bodies, the more likely it is for this issue to appear.

For younger folks, another common cause is a herniated disc – a rupture in the wall of a disc that allows the nucleus inside to bulge outward and press against a nerve. This is also due to excessive wear and tear, especially in athletes.

Symptoms of a pinched nerve may include sharp pain, overall weakness, numbness and tingling in your extremities, or varying other issues based on your unique situation.
