Kendrick Thomas, MD, is an interventional pain management specialist at Center for Spine and Pain Medicine.
Dr. Thomas has a unique perspective on pain management, as he was a patient before he was a physician. As a teenager, he underwent two spinal surgeries that led to progressive and severe low back pain in his late 20s. He sought relief from his pain and found that relief with some of the same interventional techniques he uses today in his practice. The pain relief that he experienced was so profound and life-changing that he decided to become a pain physician.
Completing his anesthesiology residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Dr. Thomas received specialized training in regional anesthesia and pain medicine. He was awarded the Mon P. Winnie Award for Excellence in Pain Medicine.
After residency, he returned to Arizona for additional fellowship training in Interventional Pain Management with Arizona Pain Specialists, where he was trained in the latest advanced interventional techniques. He treats various painful conditions, including spine and joint pain, abdominal and pelvic, and neuropathic pain.
